Beading Fest

Hello Bloggers,

It's been a while since I have posted a blog but I have been busy with a lot of changes in my life. I finally feel like I am in a good place for growth.

This past weekend I went into a beading rampage it started off by me admiring this jewelry book my mom purchased (by the way she is a jewelry designer as well) by Stephanie A. Wells called, "The Earring Style Book." Wells is a well-known jewelry designer from San Diego, CA, her california-based company 'Double Happiness Jewelry' has been a success and her designs are worn by celebrities. Check her book out at your local bookstore or any borders & barnes & noble.

All my creations come from Wells book, her designs really inspired me to learn how to make jewelry. If you've ever thought of creating some of your own jewelry this is a great book that teaches you the basic techniques to familiarizing yourself with gemstones.

More of my IslaChic Designs coming your way soon.

Their's nothing like a California orange!

Hello Folks,

I was going to post about my trip to Cali sooner rather than later but I guess my laziness just got to me. I practically live in the airport now since I just came back from Cali about a week ago and this weekend I will be Florida. I had a great time in Cali spent some good times with my mother and brother, I turned 23 and discussed a lot about life.
Passing over the Rocky Mountains in Denver, Colorado.

My bomb salad and sauteed mushrooms I made!

San Francisco!

The best cappuccino I ever had!

Osha's, great little Thai restaurant.

Orchids!

I love this Teahouse!

Trends/ Susan Woo

Make a Statement, GO!

Spring is here which means warm weather, lighter clothes to put on, and the occasional cold chilly day don't put your sweaters and jackets away just yet. I wish I could pull off this pixie cut this young woman has, it just adds to her youthful look. Her style is simple, playing very well with combining neutrals and grays and the oversized clutch bag is a nice touch.

◈ This spring/summer go for a bold red lip and light on the eyes.

◎ Prints are in right now floral, exotic, abstract you name it, go for a simple dress with an unique print. ◎

ELECtronica, EleCTrionica, ElectrOnICA!

I've currently been in this electro-pop mood which is also transcending into my style of clothes. Artist I am listening to and loving at the moment are Hot Chip, Chromeo, and an oldie Daft Punk.

Take it in | Hot Chip---ahh, makes me want to dance every time I hear this song!

I ♥ Movies!

This weekend I finally got to see some great movies, it's been a long time since I've been to the movies I refuse to watch american hollywood films due to the fact that most of them are not challenging enough to watch. Don't get me wrong their has been some great ones, I guess the times I've been to the movie theaters most of what I've seen was not that good. Anyways, if you have the time check these three movies that I have listed. Other movies I will be watching out for are Toyko Sonata, The Maid, and a few others from the best foreign films of 2009.

An Education
...

A British coming of age film touching upon heartbreak and youth vs. maturity. If your very much inspired by 1960s style then watch this film.

Lorna's Silence
...

My first time watching a Belgium film directed by the Dardenne brothers who are known for their documentary and naturalistic style. The film is a tale based on morality while capturing the harsh realities of social classes.

Los Abrazos Rotos (Broken Embraces)
...

Almodavor at his best, if you loved 'Volver' then you will love this film. Great cinematography and very artistic shots. His stories are always interesting like mini novellas. This is a must see!
